Minnesota native and U.S. speed skater Greta Myers has partnered with Spire Credit Union.

The Lino Lakes native rose to prominence in the sport, becoming the top Junior Female in the U.S., after choosing speed skating over hockey. In 2022, she competed for the U.S. Senior World Cup team, traveling to Norway, the Netherlands, Canada and Poland to compete, while also winning four medals at the Junior World Championships in Germany.

“Quickly emerging as one of the top-ranked junior skaters in the world, Greta Myers is well known for her speed, talent and achievements on the ice rink,” according to a statement on the Spire website. “Off the rink, she is genuine, authentic, and deeply cares about improving lives within her community — it’s these qualities that make Greta an inspiration to many and a strong partner to Spire.”

Lisa Lehman, vice president of marketing and business development at Spire, says as part of the agreement, Myers will be featured in upcoming ads on both billboards and television. The Spire logo will also be displayed on her skins.

Myers, now 19 and a long-time Spire member, met Spire President and CEO Dan Stoltz and felt they shared a passion for improving lives. Stoltz called Myers “a talented young leader who

exemplifies the values” aspired to by Spire.

“I am excited to represent Spire because as a long-time member, I know how Spire treats people,” she says in a statement. “Aligning with a company that truly cares about helping others achieve their goals and dreams is a natural fit for me.”

Spire Credit Union announced earlier this month it would combine with Hiway Credit Union in a deal that would make the yet-to-be-named company the state’s fourth-largest credit union with nearly $4 billion in assets, 26 branches, more than 600 employees and over 245,000 members.
