Chris Peters, previously director of sales with the Miami Marlins Triple-A affiliate New Orleans Baby Cakes , has been named general manager of the Fort Myers Miracle.

Peters replaces Andrew Seymour, who left after seven years to become the GM of the Palm Beach Cardinals, the Advanced-A affiliate for St. Louis.

“Chris is a Florida guy and he is going to be a big hit with the Southwest Florida community, our fans and the Twins,” says Jason Hochberg, principal owner of the Miracle, the Advanced-A affiliate for Minnesota.

Peters, a Florida native, had previously been assistant food and beverage manager at Hammond Stadium, where the Miracle play, in 2007. He’s also worked with the Jacksonville Suns, the Double-A affiliate for the Marlins, from 2007 to 2015. The final five years there he was GM. During that time, he was the chairman of the Southern League Marketing Committee and, in 2014, was the Jimmy Bragan Southern League Executive of the Year.
